This site is dedicated to the memory of Rev.
John Key (1832-1901), the quest for whose identity was the genesis
of this project. He and his wife Ellen lie at rest in Keys Chapel Cemetery,
along with numerous members of the church of which he was the first
pastor. Keys Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church, now no longer active,
was likely named in his honor.
